It has been my distinct pleasure knowing Kulvir Mann since she was first elected as School Trustee in 2018. Kulvir cares deeply about this community and the people she serves, and is committed to her role as School Trustee 120 percent!
From the moment I met Kulvir, I recognized her as being a person of integrity. Her honesty, genuine and straight-forward professionalism is notable and makes her a pleasure to work with.
Kulvir has worked tirelessly in support of student’s needs, and has advocated particularly for childcare within schools and in other locations. As members of the City’s CNV4Me task force, I witness Kulvir commit her time and effort to actions of this task force in support of a number of child, youth and family friendly initiatives.
Kulvir has also actively promoted the City’s Safe and Active School Travel Program (Safe Routes to Schools) which encourages families to travel to and from school in safe and active ways, to improve health and decrease traffic congestion. She also promoted the City’s funding support for upgrades to school playgrounds, which has resulted in three City and two District elementary schools having successfully completed playground upgrades since 2019 when the fund was reactivated.
In celebration of North Vancouver’s cultural diversity and to increase understanding among our residents and reduce racism, Kulvir further supported a motion brought forward by Councillor Hu and me and to create an annual, multi-day multicultural festival in the City.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Kulvir for a second term as School Trustee.
